“Dear Sir or Madame will you read my blog”

Yes! It’s time for the all new Trivia Quiz for Tuesday January 31st! Brought to us each week by all the very groovy people at Omnivore Recordings!  Your primary place for all the music you didn’t know, you didn’t know! But, before we dig into this weeks all new SMS Trivia question, we ‘d like to recognize all the brilliant readers who weighed in on last week’s question witch was, all about The Doors, their hit “Touch Me” and AJAX “The bleaching cleanser” First in with all the right answers was long time reader, the always brilliant Mr. Clark Besch! Following Clark, was an even longer time reader and old colleague Mr. Jeff Conroy! Big thanx and congrats to both you brilliant boys!

But now it’s time for a brand new SMS Trivia question:

in May 1966 The Beatles released their seventh single “Paperback Writer” a record that reminded all of us that The Beatles were a ROCK band! The band delivered one of their most aggressive and dynamic performances on record and demanded that EMI ( their record label) “Master” their recording at a greater volume than any of their previous records, as well as a greater emphasis on Paul’s bass! If “Paperback Writer” sounded louder to you it’s because it Is! Ahh but we digress, it’s Paul who delivers the searing, powerful lead vocal with George and John handling the background vocals, but they don’t come in until the third verse! And here’s your question: When John and George finally show up with their backing vocals, what are the words they sing?

Lastly, what was the title of the B – Side to Paperback Writer ?

In summary, here’s what we need:

1) What are the words that John and George sing as their background vocals in the third and fourth verse?

2) Give us the title of the B – Side to “Paperback Writer” ?

SMS sez: For those of you who don’t know the correct answer, you WILL be surprised! Please stick around till next Tuesday when we’ll reveal the correct answers! 1. Well, ya got me here. I never knew they really sang ANY words in those harmonies.
B side was Rain of course.
Will be interesting to hear what they are singing.

    • Hey Clark!
Yes, they do sing words….Words most everyone knows and most everyone has sang them as well at some point in our lives! Especially if you lived in France!
      You’re welcome!
      Rick
