Good morning! Since we didn’t run a tribal question last week this week we’re cutting straight to this week’s all new question!…

  1. I’m only bummed that my good friend Al Kooper, who started the band, wasn’t noted EXCEPT by Patrick!!! Well done Patrick!!
    I just spoke with Al last week….all good.

    • Thanks, Jeff–I had the Al Kooper album, Super Session, with Bloomfield and Stills. Then, there’s Al’s portrait in the Dylan film, A Complete Unknown, siding into that “Like a Rolling Stone” take on the organ. Certainly his little organ riff on that great song is a signature sound of one of the top 5 60’s records ever.

    1. The song is “And When I Die” great vocal by the Canadian David Clayton-Thomas, with catchy cowboy YiHaw
    2. Blood Sweat and Tears sang it, after setting up and closing the album with a musical theme from Erik Satie, with exiting footsteps
    3. Laura Nyro wrote it, and she was championed by David Geffen
    4. Other song by Nyro: Eli’s Coming, covered by Three Dog Night
