As the Summer unfurls and heats up, we’re forgoing our Tuesday Trivia question this week and continuing with what we whimsically refer to as our “Summer Encore” series with a piece we originally posted in November 2017 all about the thriving “Club Scene” in L.A. in 1966… However, before we set “The Wayback Machine” to 1966, we ‘d like to take a moment to recognize the brilliant readers who weighed in on last weeks quiz, which was all about hit songs from the 1960,s that were sung partially or primarily in any other language except English! First in with all the right answers was “Jangling John Zambetti! Congrats my old friend. Following John was long time reader Mr. Fast Fredrick Vogel! Great job yet again Mr. V. And of course Jumpin’ Jeffery Conroy chimed in with all th right answers and more! Even Ms. Denise Shoemaker dropped in and nailed it! Way to go Miss D. Wrapping things up with a creative approach to the answer was my all time favorite reader! Miss Eva Marie Shoemaker! Congrats to both my girls and all you cool guys! Finally, we need to recognize all the Groovey people at Omnivore Recordings! Your place for all the music you didn’t know, you didn’t know!
“Return with us now to those thrilling day’s of “Yesteryear” and enjoy a look back at what was happening on “The Sunset Strip and beyond in 1966: Click on L.A.’s legendary traffic below:
