The SMS Trivia Question Of The Week!

Hey now! It’s Trivia Tuesday for Oct. 2nd. AND, as we like to do, first we’re going to recognize the brilliant SMS readers who nailed last week’s question which was a lyrical one;  Finish this lyric! “The girls can’t stand her cuz she looks walks and drives like an ace now” and, who sang the song? The correct answer is, “She makes the Indy 500 look like a Roman chariot race now” Of course, it is The Beach Boys having “Fun, Fun, Fun”

Soooo, Big Fall high fives go out to: “First in Freddy Vogel “ who was first in before the cyber ink dried. Baby brother Rob, from deep in the heart of Texas! Where everything is bigger, especially their heads!  Of course Ron ( and for the last time NO! i’m Not in The Rolling Stones ) Wood weighed in from the heartland of Sunshine, produce, wind and rain FLORIDA! And an honorable mention to Jack Bigoshay for showing up and giving us a lyric we weren’t looking for! Thanx Jack!

Big SMS congrats to this week’s Fab Four readers for their correctness, politically or otherwise!  WAY TO GO GENTS!

But Now! It’s time for this week’s quiz! It’s a lyrical question as well so, here ya go: According to the singer of the song “It was June 3rd. What kind of day was June 3rd. And what was the singer doing that day? And for extra credit, what was the singers brother doing that day?

Yeah, you bet we’re gettin’ personal! In summary, describe the type of day June 3rd. was? What was the singer doing that day? And how ‘bout the brother?

And, of course, the name of the song and the artist who took it to number one in August of 1967?

  2. The 3rd of June was another sleepy, dusty delta day. They were choppin’ cotton and bailing hay. It was the day Billy Joe McCalister jumped off the Talehatchie Bridge. Tom and Billy Jo put a frog down the singer’s back (that would be Bobby Henyry). Billy Jo and someone who looked like (Bobby Gentry) was seen by mom throein something off the Talihatvhie Bridge.
I have debated this song for years: my take was that an illegitimate baby (abortion innuendo?) was thrown into the water.I always felt a conspiracy here, maybe??!!
