Janis and Jimi’s [Joplin & Hendriks] sudden deaths really rocked my rock world; very sad!! Brian Jones and Jim Morrison were equally sad losses. I felt that out of the four Jim Morrison’s death was really spooky because there seemed to be so much spinning of the stories and the whole affair was clouded in if’s, how’s when, and where’s at the time. As time marched forward and others succumbed to untimely and premature deaths I came to a place where mortality gradually became an inevitable part of the whole reality.
I must admit I do not recall the exact dates of these deaths other than I know they occurred in the late 60’s and early 70’s.
thanx and peace out…wood

I knew Janis, Jim and Jimmy. Didn’t know about Brian. Wasn’t going to be first anyway, so I looked it up. Actually there is a link: https://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/music/27-club-famous-musicians-died-age-27-article-1.2501832 It lists 10, and they are mostly recognizable names!
Hey James,
Thanx for that great link! Fascinating in a morbid kinda way!
(Probably shoulda saved this question for Halloween, next month )
Thanx my old friend!

Hey Jimmy: I watched a T.V. show regarding the death of Brian Jones and learned that his death is now being investigated as a resurrected “Cold Case” for possible murder as the cause of death. I too was not very aware of Brian Jones until that show other than I knew he was one of the original Stones but I did not know the extent of his influence on the band in the early times.
…rock on …. wood!!
Hey Wood, perhaps I can shed a little light on Brian’s contributions……I got one word “Winds” During the MontereyPop Festival Brian was wondering around the fairgrounds, randomly speaking to everyone/ anyone! At one point someone asks Brian just what he’s working on these days and he reply’s with that snobby uppercase London West End accent and sez one word twice……..”Winds (pause) Winds! And radioplayed those two words all summer! I guess one could say his influence would be “Winds” and without “Winds” Ruby Tuesday would be a very boring record! Hope that answers any questions!
