Snoring with Satisfaction !

On this day in 1965 The Rolling Stones were at No.1 in the UK with ’(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction’, giving the band their 4th UK No.1 single. Keith Richards recorded a rough version of the now legendary guitar riff in a Florida hotel room. He ran through it once before falling asleep. He said when he listened back to it the next morning, there was about two minutes of acoustic guitar before you could hear him drop the pick and “then the rhythmic sound of Keith snoring for the next forty minutes”.

    • Hey Clark,
You make an excellent point! In fact I recall back in the Stones first couple L.P’s it was not uncommon for reviewers to claim that the songwriting team of Jagger/ Richards were on par withLennon / McCartney! But to your pont much of the material released in those early recordings were written by outside writers! I.e. “Fortune Teller!
As always Thanx Clark for your insightful attention to details
      Rick
