But before we unleash this week’s very cool quiz, we’d like to recognize the brilliant readers who chimed in on last week’s quiz Which was all about one word from one great song from the 60’s!
Not a big turn out for last week’s Question, perhaps it was “Too Trivial? However, First in with all the right answers was Mr. Jeff Conroy! Way To go Mr. “C” and I believe that was the third week in a row! Next in and wrapping things up was my dear old friend, Certified SMS Super Genius and Trivia Junkie Mr. Bill Goshay
But now, it’s time for the SMS Trivia Question for Tues. April 19th. This weeks question is An anagram, and here it is: “Hold an Encore” Additionally after you’ve unscrambled your anagram and reveal just who they are we also need the titles of at least three of their great songs ? We also want to know the name of the 6o’s Icon who acted as a mentor to our anagram ?
Lastly what was the title of his debut album from 1967 ?
In summary, here’s what we need
1) Tell us who “Hold an encore” unscrambles to become ?
2) Give us the titles to at least three additional song’s he’s recorded and released ?
3) Give us the title to his debut album from 1967 ?
4) Give us the name of the 60’s icon that mentored our Anagram ?
There you have it with this SMS unhelpful hint…although our anagram didn’t write “Suite Judy Blue Eye’s” He certainly could have!

Boy oh boy, do I need reading glasses. I thought #4 said ‘mentioned’ not ‘mentored’. Yikes. :0)
Jennifer Warnes (who duets with Bill Medley in “Time Of My Life” from Dirty Dancing”, among many other things) did an entire album of Cohen songs called “Jenny Sings Lenny”
Actually your “hint” IS a good one; “Suite Judy (Collins)Blue Eyes”! Good stuff “Shoe”! AND I believe that Dustin Hoffman would be the perfect puck to portray your Anagram; Leonard Cohen. What an intrresting man. It was Judy Collins who steered Leonard Cohen into some very fruitfull directions. She took a Cohen poem and suggested he go a step furthar with the titled poem ,”Suzanne” and SING IT, turn it into what was to be perhsps his signature piece of music. Judy recorded it herself & THAT was my intro to Leonard Cohen. “Suzanne” was on his 1st album, titled SONGS OF LEONARD COHEN. “So Long Marianne. Another more recent great is “Hallelujah” which I very unfortunately heard only AFTER the passing of Jeff Buckley. “Bird on a Wire” is another favorite of mine.
If a Cohen Bio is ever filmed let it be Dustin wearing the hat!
….thanx…wood
Woa, I cheated and learned a bunch about Leonard Cohen. Do I also correctly understand that the Shrek soundtrack version of Hallelujah was performed by Rufus Wainwright? Rufus keeps popping up everywhere. His style is hauntingly familiar, as if I had been hearing him most of my life. And here he is again. If you are interested, watch/listen to his Official Music Video of to his version of Across the Universe on YouTube… Haunting….
