The SMS Trivia Question for 7 / 5…

Yes! It’s true, it’s time for the all new Trivia Quiz for Tuesday July 5th! Generously brought to us by all the very Groovey people at Omnivore Recordings! Your place for all the music you didn’t know, you didn’t know! But! Before we reveal this week’s latest question, we’d like to recognize all the absolutely brilliant readers who weighed in on last weeks question, which was, all about The Beach Boy’s and Beatles classics “In My Room” and “There’s A Place” Only two readers correctly answered the question, first in was our very dear old friend Bill Goshay!  and even his answer was a wee bit vague! But, although coming in last, the only reader to completely and correctly answer the question and more was our good friend and 60’s trivia superstar from “Beyond The Sea” Mr. Larry in Munich! Way to go Billy and Larry, and stand by, as an all new question is just below!

But now! It’s time for the new trivia question for the week of July 5th! This week’s question focuses on a multi talented musician and band leader who’s career spanned three decade’s kicking off tn the early 1940’s Spike Jones entertained us with his hilarious parodies of popular music, and Pop culture! His music / comedy and originality remains unparalleled to this very day! We’d like to begin by asking you to give us the name of his unique and talented band ?, next we’d like the titles to at least three of his original and hilarious song’s ? Lastly in 1969 “Spike” received a “name check in our favorite song from one our favorite band’s from the 60’s! Of course, we want to know the title to the song and name of the band ?

In summary, here’s what we need:

1) Give us the name of Spike Jones’ band ?

2) Give us the titles to at least 3 of his original and hilarious songs ?

3) Give us the name of the incredible band from the 60’s who wrote and released the song that “Name checks” Spike in 1969 ?

4) of course give us the title to this 60’s classic ?

5) The SMS “Super Genius award to anyone who can name even one member of Spike’s band ?

      • I did some work with Spike Jr, who took over his father’s band and became a TV and event producer.

          Was Spike jr. A musician and band leader and did he wear those crazy suits and Bow ties ? Meanwhile, at this point Thursday morning YOU remain the only person to answer the question!
          To tell the truth, I was a bit concerned that the question could be a bit too obscure! Especially the question about “Up On Cripple Creak” and The Band! But! It certainly didn’t slow YOU down! Always great when you drop in!,
