Yes indeed, it’s Trivia Tuesday for February 16th! Brought to us every Tuesday morning by “All the Groovey People” at Omnivore Recordings! Your number one source for all the music you didn’t know, you didn’t know! But! Before we get to this week’s question, we’d like to recognize all the brilliant folks who weighed in on last weeks question, which was: all about the first band to be signed to The Beatles fledgling record label “Apple Records” The band? Of course, was The Iveys! First in with all the right answers was our former colleague and trivial genius Mr. Jeff Conroy! Way to go yet again Mr. “C”. Coming in close second but didn’t quite get all the answers was Mr. Tom Slocum! Yaaye Tom! Followed by the ever brilliant Mr. Curtis Stone! Followed by the always impressive Mr. Clark Besch! Lastly, wrapping it all up was our oldest and most trivial pal Mr. Ron Wood! Always great to see you my old friend!
But now! It’s time for the new SMS trivia question of the week: This weeks question is a lyrical one! And, here’s your lyric… “For Halloween buy her a trumpet and for Christmas, get her a drum”…. What is the title of the song that includes this lyric? Who is the iconic singer / songwriter who wrote and recorded this song in 1965? Lastly, which popular “Teen Age Idol” covered the song and had a hit with it in 1969?
P.S. To achieve SMS “Super Genius” status give us the. Titles to at least 3 additional popular songs from the Singer / Songwriter and and at least 3 additional popular songs from the “Teen Idol ?
In summary, here’s what we need:
1) What is the title of the song that includes the lyric we quoted just above ?
2) Who is the iconic 60’s singer / songwriter who originally wrote and recorded the song in 1965 ?
3) What is the name of the popular “Teen Idol” who covered this great song in 1969 ?
4) Give us the titles to at least 3 additional popular tunes from the Singer / Songwriter and 3 more from The “Teen Idol” as well ?
You know you got this, so take a minute and click on the link below to Omnivore Recordings HomePage and browse thru the greatest record catalog in the known world and beyond!
Remember, you can answer the weekly trivia question as often as you like, but can only win a very cool Omnivore CD every 30 days!…

Hey Fred,
Very close this week and yes! It was Rick Nelson! However “Catch The Wind” was Donovan!
Hope we see you again next Tuesday!
Best,
Rick
Yeah, I see where I screwed up. I was just listing some Dylan songs I play.
I wanna guess Bobby Sherman, but if it is, can’t remember which song it’s in. I recognize the lyrics, but cannot place them.
Hey Clark,
Nice try with Bobby Sherman, but the correct answer is Rick Nelson with his cover of “She belongs to Me” and, did you know that in the early 70’s Bobby gave up his career in the music business to pursue a career as a Paramedic ? Yeah, I don’t get it either ! But, there’s gotta be a joke in here about girls on deaths door, but I’ll leave that to you!
Thanx,
Rick
