Your only place for all the greatest music you didn’t know, you didn’t know! However! Before we get to this weeks question, we’d like to recognize the many very cool readers who weighed in on last weeks question! Which was: We asked you who was the first British band to have a number one record in the U.S.A. And, who produced it? The answer is “Telstar” by The Tornados, produced by the notorious Joe Meeks! First in from all the way across the world in Germany was our old friend Larry in Munich Way to go Larry! However, only minutes later Edmund Simmons swooped in and answered all of the question correctly and is the winner of this weeks cool Omnivore CD! way to go Ed! You are now a certified “SMS SUPER GENIUS” We also heard from Fred Vogel who, in a weird turn of events missed the entire question! Wassup Fred? However Curtis Stone dropped by and nailed the question, as he tends to do!…Great Job “Cur-Tay! And last but so not least from “Way down in Fla.” Ronald L. Wood! Congrats gents, one and all!
But now it’s time for this weeks Trivia Question: This week, we’re going to try something a little different and a little more conversational! Here we go… In the 60’s, if I said “I’ve been most everywhere, from Zanzibar to Barclay Square, but my cousin’s only seen the sights a girl can see from Brooklyn Heights” WHO AM I and what are the first and last names of the two characters I played on T.V. ?
Furthermore, what is the title of the feature film where I made my screen debut in 1962 and who was the real life character I played?
But now, here’s the hard part! SMS Super Genius status to any reader who can name the real life person, the film’s title refers to?
In Summary, here’s what we need…
1) If, I’ve been most everywhere from Zanzibar to Barclays square, who am I ?
2) What are the first and last names of the two characters I played on T.V. ?
3) What is the title of the feature film in which I made my screen debut and whom did I portray ?
4) What is the name of the real life person and central character the film’s title refers to ? ( Take your time, this one is much harder than it may appear!)
While you’re thumbing through your old issues of “T.V. guide, why not click on the Omnivore Recordings HomePage link we provided below and browse the greatest record catalog in the known world and beyond!
Remember, you can play the Trivia Quiz as often as you like, but can only win a very Groovey Omnivore CD every 30 days!…
As a flashback aside to this week’s brain buster, this trivia tale took me back to my very early Boy Scout days on a comping trip where I spent the night getting teased by my fellow rug rats because I was a great fan (crush) of Ms. Hally Mills. Some of my buds thought they WERE TWINS! Some did not believe me (editing magic!).
But the case on hand:
1) This singing perspective came from Patty’s identical twin Cathy. ( The theme from the Patty Duke Show (we all watched it – big fans)
2) The teens last names were Lane (Patty & Cathy).
3) This is a CLASSIC FILM: “The Miracle Worker”.
4) The film is the incredible story of Helen Keller played by Patty Duke!
Peace and …”Love each other” George Harrison

Hey Woody,
YES! You really did nail things here, but let me share with you a rarely discussed fact about Patty Duke, ( That is after all, why we are here!) Didja know that Patty Duke had a Top Ten hit single in 1965? It’s called “Don’t Just Stand There”
Unfortunately it sounds way to similar to a huge record from hat same time….”You Don‘t Own Me.” Patty is a decent singer, but could never come close to Lesley Gore! …Check it out!…Here’s Patty!

Patty Duke Show, Shoe…Patty and Cathy..last name, Lane….movie was, The Miracle Worker..Patty Played Helen Keller. I think Anne Bancroft played her teacher. Who’s name escapes me…Didnt DC he marry Mel Brooks? Or am I tripping, (as only a 60’s dude could do)..if I am thinking right, I believe Patty married John Astin. The rumour is the broke up after a question on The Newlywed Game?..Patty did not like John’s answer…but that’s just a urban legend..or am I tripping….again.
Hey Curtis,
Don’t think there’s any “Tripping” going on here with you! You nailed it and yes, Anne Bancroft (Who did portray Anne Sullivan in “The Miracle” was married to Mel Brooks! We always felt that was a very unusual pairing! However we’ve never heard about the Patty Duke / Sean Austin appearance onThe Newlywed Game Hmmmmmmm!
Thanx Curtis, I’m now going to Wiki “The Newlywed Game”
