Before we get to this weeks Trivia Quiz, we want to recognize the fine folks who weighed in on last weeks question, which was: We gave you the name of six popular boy/girl duets from the 60’s and wanted to know which one were brother and sister? The correct answer is April and Nino! First one in for the third week in a row was “Excellent” Ed Simmons! Yeah! Way to go Ed! But, coming in as a close second was “Keen Eye’d” Ken Jones! Yaaaaaaaye Ken

But now, it’s time for this week’s new trivia question: once again this weeks question will be more conversational! AND, HERE WE GO!  “I got my start working in Radio as a Disc Jockey in the mid 60’s, broadcasting from Mexico and my show could be heard nearly everywhere in the Continental United States! My popularity grew and in 1973 I landed a feature role in an early George Lucas film!
Then, in 1974 a very popular rock band had a Top 40 hit with a song that paid homage to me and featured my name in the title!…Who am I ?

So, Here’s what we need:

1) Who am I (what is my name)?

2) What is the title of the feature film from George Lucas where I had a Co-Starring Role?

3) What is the title of the Top 40 hit record that paid homage to me?

4) What popular group wrote, recorded and released this unique record?

5) SMS “Super Genius” status to anyone who can tell us his real name?

  1. WOW!!!We grew up with Wolfman Jack!! I listened to him on my XSTR RADIO in bed before sleep. Broadcasting on 100 GAZILLION WATTS from Mexico!! No broadcasting limits accross the boarder. The only song about him that I can think of is “CLAP FOR THE WOLFMAN” by The Guess Who?? The Wolf’s actual name is Bob Smith.
    What a GREAT MEMORY..THANX….wood

    • Hey Wood,
Ah yes I can also remember. You and I driving around (just about anywhere in California) listening to him together and each doing our best “Wolfman impression!

  2. Robert Smith is Wolfman Jack. The movie was American Graffiti. “Clap for the Wolfman” by the Guess Who. He was a force to be reckoned with. Probably one of the more powerful and influential DeeJays of the day. I remember listening to this guy in the dark of night in my Chevy Van, cruising Van Nuys Blvd. He hosted “The Midnight Special”. I could hardly wait for that weekly show. Great LIVE performances by everyone form Steely Dan to Linda Ronstadt My favorite introduction was when he said in that gravely voice, “Ladies and Gentleman, HELEN REDDY”. I still do a great impersonation of that intro.

    • Hey Curtis,
“Ladies and Gentleman, Helen Reddy” Oh Curtis, your killin’ me! But you did NAIL THIS WEEKS QUESTION! Right on my brother!
And yeah, The Wolfman was one of a kind! Did you know that he did his show from a small radio production facility down in Rosarito Bech just a few miles south of Tia Juana. The Mexican owners had a massive 250,000 Watt Transmitter and you could here The Wolfman from as south as Central America upwards thru the pacific Nothwest and East to Maine and the Eastern Seaboard! Essentially EVERYWHERE! Cutting that single “Clap for the Wolfman” was a brilliant promotion move on the part of The Guess Who, there new single could be heard in their native Canada and everywhere in between!
Lastly, we gotta get together and you GOTTA do your best WMJ impression… “”The Wolfman loves you baby”
