Good morning, and welcome back to another all new SMS Trivia  quiz for Tuesday May 27th. Brought to us by all those very Groovey people at Omnivore Recordings!  Your first and last stop for all the music you didn’t know, you didn’t know! However, before we break out this week’s all mew question, we’d  like to recognize the loyal and brilliant readers who correctly weighed in on

last week’s quiz, which was all about the great Laura Nyro and our favorite “horn band “Blood Sweat and Tears,  This week rather than recognize the brilliant readers here, we recommend that you take a moment, go to the comments section and read thru all the great stuff that Mr. Jeff Conroy, Mr. Simon Craddock and Mr. Patrick McMahon shared with us! A true treasure trove of 60’s music trivia and more!! It’s a pleasure and an honor having brilliant music enthusiasts like you three gents join us here each week!

But now, it’s time for a brand new SMS Trivia quiz for Tuesday May the 27th: They exclusively played “Fender” guitars, they had a hit twice with the same song! Between 1960 and 1964!  Additionally they had a hit with the theme from a popular T.V. Series! We need you to tell us who this legendary 4 piece band is?

In summary here’s what we need:

1) Naturally, Give the name of this legendary aggregation?

2) Give us the title to the song that was a hit for hem twice ?

3) Give us the title of the classic 60’s T.V. Program who’s theme  they covered. And had a hit with in 1968 ?

4) Give us the titles to at least two more hits from this ground breaking band ?

  1. Day late and a Dollar Short, as usual. they played Fenders, but then had a deal with Mosrite. My first bass was a Ventures Model..Mosrite…4 Stringer. I sold it and picked up a ’64 Fender Jazz bass. Still use it to this day, but i wish I still had the Mosrite. It’d be a great collecter’s edition these days. At 16 I made a lot of stupid guitar decisions. (someday I’ll expose my idiocy to you all, but not today. ha ha ha) I could do a whole piece on that. Live and learn. Speaking of pieces, Rick. I have one in the works, as you know. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks I’ll have time to finish it off… BTW, I don’t sell anything now.
