  1. First album where all songs were written my Lennon & McCartney was The Beatles | 1962-1966 (The Red Album), McCartney had no beard on the cover of Abbey Road, John Lennon’s “Imagine” was the first solo Beatle song to reach #1.

    • Hey Ken,
Great to see you back! And you are correct about McCartney! But the first number one from an ex Beatle was “My Sweet Lord”
Also, the first Beatle album where all the songs ere written by Lennon and McCartnet was “A Hard Day’s Night” from 1964! You were correct that “The Red Album” only contained songs by L and M. The Red Album didn’t come out till 1973 and it was a repackage created by the label!
But, we always like to see you show up on Tuesday or any day!
      Rick

  2. Paul had no Beard, or shoes.leading to the “Paul IS Dead” Rumor..”what the hell, no shoes, no beard, he must be dead!!”. My Sweet Lord, I think was the first # one by an ex Beatle. Of course that little law suit about He’s so Fine. I think he got screwed on that one. Hard Days Night, all by John and Paul…I believe. That first chord on “Hard Days Night” changed my concept of chords.

    • Hey Curtis,
Great to see you back and of course you nailed the question! But I disagree with you about the “He’s So Fine “ lawsuit! I called foul the first time I heard “My Sweet Lord” I gotta believe George was surrounded by “Yes Men” covinceing him that they sounded nothing alike! I thought it was a direct rip!
And about that opening chord from “A Hard Day’s Night: I spent countless hours sitting at my drum kit while the guitar players in the group experimented and NO ONE EVER GOT IT RIGHT!
      Thanx Curtis,
      Rick

    • Hey Owen!
Whoa! First in “before the ink was dry on the page” with ALL the right answers! Way to go, always great to see you drop by!
