But, before we get to this weeks new trivia quiz, we’d like to recognize the brilliant readers who weighed in on last week’s question, which was: We asked you which Beatle is singing “She loves you yeah, yeah, yeah,” during the ending fade of “All You Need Is Love” ? The correct answer is (surprisingly) Both John and Paul in unison are singing the part! Astonishingly only two readers attempted to answer the question with our new weekly regular Owen being first in Who correctly answered the B and C parts of our question but just couldn’t get our primary question! We love your tenacity Sir Owen! However, showing up just before our deadline with a fascinating and detailed answer was our old friend Ron Wood! Although we loved reading his “essay” Ron missed the “John and Paul in unison part of the question as well! Loved your remarks “Woody” Big thanx to both you brilliant dudes! And here comes your chance to really show your stuff!
Cuz now, It’s time for this week’s new trivia Quiz: And this week, your question is an Anagram and a wee bit more: Here’s the Anagram “Moan Lyrics” There ya go, tell us who that is, additionally, our Anagram first hit the charts in 1964 as one half of a duet! What was the name of the duet? And what was the title to their first chart single? Later, our Anagram would marry a popular singer / songwriter! Who did our Anagram marry? And give us the title to at least one hit they had as a duet? ( Like how we did that ? )
In summary, here’s what we need:
1) Who is Moan Lyrics ?
2) What was the name of the duet he/she formed in the mid sixties?
3) What was the title to their first chart record?
4) Who is the popular singer / songwriter our Anagram later married?

Man alive..you’re making it tough..I would Guess Carly Simon…she and her sister made some records, as The Simon Sisters..as far as a 1964 chart hitter, your guess is as good as mine…I can think of no hits in 64. Maybe “Motherless Child”? I’ll be interested in that bit of 60’s trivia. She later hooked up with James Taylor and did, “Mockingbird”.
Hey Curtis!
Yeah, we knew this was a tough one but, your guess of Carly Simon is correct
And, your right she did make some records with her sister Lucy! In fact in 1964 they signed with Kapp records and called themselves “The Simon Sisters” And get this their first album, released in 1964 was called…. “Meet The Simon Sisters”! Yeah just like that English band’s first record in the U.S.
Meanwhile their first album yielded one single called “Winkin, Blinking, and nod” ! It got some airplay in the mid west, and garnered enough attention t o secure an appearance on the T.V. Show “Hooenanny” I’m sure you remember hat show? Hell, I’ll bey YOU appeared on it as well!
Great Job Curtis, looking forward to see how you fare next Tuesday!

I had no idea about Carly Simon in 1964!
I recall a story about James Taylor saw her album at Wallichs Music City in the early 70’s but did not recognize her in the photo on the cover. That was iconic.
Kudos Julie for knowing it. For me, this was a tricky one and I did not use the internet this time!
Maybe someday there will be trivia about Raffi, like, according to the song, what does Raffi eat after he sings “I like to eat, eat, eat, eepples and benenees”?
The Everly Brothers and lots of other started the same way. For sure, they all have more hits than I do:)
Hey Billy,
Always great when you drop by! And yeah, hard to compete with Julie on this one, She nailed it! But, I do appreciate your sharing of that story about James not recognizing Carly’s picture on her album cover And to further underscore your story, it should be noted that James was married to Carly when he didn’t recognize her!
Thanx Bill, see you next Tuesday?
Rick
Oh, and one other thing, Raffi?
Thanx again!…
Carly Simon, a favorite of mine
I don’t know if this is what you are going for but Carly and her sister, Lucy formed the Simon Sisters. She, of course, sang duets with James Taylor.
The Simon Sisters had a hit called “Winkin, Blinkin and Nod”
She married James Taylor and they sang “You Can Close Your Eyes”
Hey Jules,
Wow, first in with all the correct answers down to the last detail! It’s pretty evident that she “is one of your favorites”
Congrats and thanx!
See you next Tuesday?
In the meantime a very cool Omnivore CD is on it’s way straight to you!
