Yessir! It’s Trivia Tuesday for March 23rd! Brought to us each week by all the Groovey ladies and gents that make Omnivore Recordings your number one destination for only the coolest music that you didn’t know, you didn’t know! But! Before we get into this weeks new question, we must recognize all the brilliant readers who chimed in on last weeks question, which was: All about Beatle song titles that are only one word! First in and coming close but not quite nailing our question was the “ever on it” Mr. Clark Besch! Sorry Clark, close but no cigar this week! However close on Clark’s heels was our old friend and new SMS Super Genius, Mr. Jeff Conroy! delivering all the right answers and more! Lastly, getting in just before the dead line was one of the greater “Beatle minds” and our reeeaaly old friend Mr. Ron Wood! Way to go Woody, Jeff And big thanks to Clark!
But now! It’s time for the new SMS Trivia question for this week: This weeks quiz is a lyrical question which is likely to bring back fond memories of….Well, let’s just leave it at “fond memories! So! Here’s your lyric…
“And when the morning of the warning’s passed, the gassed
And flaccid kids are flung across the stars
The psychodramas and the traumas gone
The songs are left unsung and hung upon the scars”
Of course, just like you remembered, right? Now, all we need is the title to the classic mid sixties mega-hit that featured this head spinning word-fest, plus the name of the hugely popular band who recorded this controversial classic? And as we tend to often ask, give us the titles to at least 3 additional hits from this awesome aggregation
Finally, and a chance to achieve “SMS Super Genius ” status, what is the name of the talented songwriter who wrote this verbose verse?
In summary, here’s what we need:
1) What is the title of the great mid Sixties classic that includes the lyrics posted just above ?
2) What is the name of the band that recorded and released this gem in 1966 ?
3) Give us the titles to at least 3 additional hits from this very popular band ?
4) As “Extra Credit” and to achieve SMS Super Genius status, tell us who wrote this tongue twisting tune ?

Along comes. Mary. The association 3 cherish, never my love,4
Terry kirkman.
Hey Tom,
Great to see you back here at SMS!
Meanwhile you got dang close to nailing the question, except Terry Kirkman. Terry is certainly an obvious choice, he did write “Cherish” and Everything that touches You” plus a couple others but he didn’t write “Along Comes Mary” ACM was written by a friend of Terry’s Tandya Almer!
Welcome back Tom, don’t be a stranger!
Cheers,
Rick
Good morning to all,
”Along Comes Mary’ was recorded by The Association and written by Tandya Almer.
Their other hits would be …
‘Never My Love’, written by our great friend Richard Addrisi and his brother Don.
‘Cherish’ and ‘Windy’ would be other hits from back in the day.
Hey Mr. “C”
Naturally you brought this one home!
Yeah, The Addrisi’s were great guys!
See you next Tuesday!

“Along Comes Mary”
The Association
Windy, Never My Love, Cherish
Tandyn Almer (I admit I had to look this up)
Hey Steve,
Great to see you back at SMS! And of course you’re first w with almost all the correct answers! The songwriter is very obscure, I had to look him up as well but that was back in 1966! Beyond “Along Comes Mary he was close friends with Brian Wilson, I believe they co wrote a couple songs, one I believe made it to the Smile L.P.
Thanx for coming by and joining in the conversation!
Cheers…
Rick
