YES! It’s Trivia Tuesday for Sept. first! Brought to us each week by all the Groovey people over at Omnivore Recordings! Your place for all of the greatest music you never knew, you never knew! But! Before we get to this weeks trivia quiz, we’d like to recognize the brilliant readers who weighed in on last weeks question, which was: we listed ten of our favorite “Surf Guitar” songs from the 60’s and a list of ten “Surf Bands” and asked you to match the correct band with the correct song! Interestingly enough NO ONE showed up with all the correct matches! However Mr. Clark Besch! was first in, came close, but didn’t nail it!! Following Clark was our old friend and long time reader Mr. Jim Gorman! And again Jim got close but “No Cigar” But hang tight guys a new Trivia question is just a paragraph away!
And yes, here is this weeks new Trivia Question: And this week it’s a lyrical question! According to the song: “Spring was never waiting for us dear, it ran one step ahead as we followed in the dance” What Classic 60’s hit features that bit of groovy Poetry? Who is the artist that recorded this long and lavish masterpiece and most importantly, who is the songwriter who wrote this Magnum Opus? Lastly, to attain SMS Super Genius status, give us the titles to at least three other mega-hits written by this hugely successful songwriter and the artist’s who recorded them?
In Summary, here’s what we need:
1) What is the title of the 60’s classic that includes the lyric we quoted above?
2)Who is the artist who recorded this unusual composition?
3) Who is the songwriter who wrote this Gem?
4) The songwriter who wrote this song was incredibly popular and successful with many of his songs hitting the Top Ten during the mid to late 60’s. Give us the titles to at least three other hits penned by this songwriter and the name of the artists who recorded each of them?
As always, we recommend clicking on the link provided below and browse Omnivore Recordings HomePage, and discover some incredible music you just gotta have!

Hey Clark,
Yes! All right, but what is “Montage Love Generation?
Curious about that one?
Rick
Montage is a minor Jimmy Webb hit by Love Generation that was in the Debbie Reynolds movie “How sweet it is”. I always loved this from 1968. Actually, Picardy also charted with this at the same time.
